This year, it is set to return with a new spin. With the end of the legendary muscle car that is the Chevrolet Camaro in sight because of changing market trends leaning towards electric cars and SUVs, Trans Am Worldwide has reimagined the 1970s muscle car to keep us all happy. They have kept drag addicts gleeful with some modern twists whilst, keeping in mind everything we love about the cars of the period with the release of the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS.

Retro styling, a hugely powerful choice of engines, different trim options, bags of charisma, oodles of style, and a seriously beautiful but aggressive look. We have brought you everything confirmed so far, everything you need to know, and why you should be excited about the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS.

What’s New For The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS

With some of the best news of the decade for muscle car lovers with the release of the Chevelle 70/SS, it will be released with three retro-inspired trims that are sure to get your nostalgic heart beating hard.

Built by Trans Am Worldwide, all three trims feature the sixth-generation Camaro platform and will combine retro and modern with the use of a carbon-fiber body, the iconic cowl-induction hood, plenty of style and color options, rally stripes, beautiful '70s-inspired interior, and mod-cons so you aren't lumbered with the aspects of classic cars that you hate.

Three Awesome Trims Available

There will be three trims offered for the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS lineup. They are the Base Model, the 369 Heritage Model which is based on the 1970 SS 369, and the highest spec'd trim, the 454 LS6X Limited Edition which pays homage to the most powerful original trim, the 1970 SS 454 LS6.

Trans Am Worldwide are only making 25 examples of the 454 LS6X, so they will be extremely exclusive. Each trim will be available in a choice of twenty different colors, a choice of wheels, hardtop or soft-top options, different powertrain options, and different performance packages.

2024 Chevelle 70/SS Trim Options

• The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS Base Model options include either Mach V or traditional rally wheels and a naturally aspirated V-8 or supercharged V-8 engine.
• The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS 369 Heritage Model will include an engine specification plaque, and a Mantic triple-disc clutch for manual variants as standard. It will also include options such as shaved handles or chrome heritage handles, Mach V or traditional rally wheels, and a supercharged or twin-turbocharged engine.
• The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS 454 LS6X Limited Edition will include headers with a 3.0-inch full exhaust system, and a drag pack (on the 1500 horsepower model only). Options include either Mach V or traditional rally wheels, a choice of three powertrains (more on that below though), and the choice of any custom color you want, including the twenty standard colors available on the other trims.

The Chevelle 70/SS Powertrain

The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6 featured the legendary 7.4-liter 454 Big-Block V-8 engine that kicked out 450 horsepower. So, where better to start for the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS? There will be a few options for the 2024 model, all with crazy horsepower and you will even get the choice if you want the engine to be naturally aspirated, super-charged, or twin-turboed. Each model will also be available in either manual or automatic transmission.

A Huge V-8 With Serious Power, Even From The Base Model

As standard on the 2024 70/SS Base Model, the '24 Chevelle will feature a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT1 V-8, which is capable of matching the 1970 Chevelle SS 454's 450 horsepower.

It is a very fitting way to pay homage to the great car that the 2024 model is based on, whilst showing what can be done with modern technology to boost the power output. If you opt for the 2600 Magnuson Supercharger on the Base Model, engine horsepower will be increased to a whopping 675 horsepower!

Chevelle 70/SS Powertrain Options

If you thought the Base Model's horsepower was impressive, you'll love the 396 Heritage Model which will boast a 6.5-liter V-8, and the exclusive 454 LS6X Limited Edition which will see the return of the 454 Big-Block V-8.

Featuring the 396 Heritage Model is a 402-cubic-inch aluminium block V-8 which comes supercharged with a 2600 Magnuson Supercharger as standard, kicking out an impressive 800 horsepower. Or, if that still isn't enough, you can choose the twin-turbocharged option, with 60/75 comp twin turbos and custom heads, that bumps it up to 900 horsepower.

The 454 LS6X Limited Edition is where it gets really impressive though. As standard, the 454 Iron Big-Block will be supercharged with a 2600 Magnuson Supercharger and capable of producing 900 horsepower, whilst the two twin-turbocharged options will produce 1,000 horsepower, with 68/75 comp twin turbos or, an absolutely staggering 1,500 horsepower when paired with 68/70 precision twin turbos.

Features Of The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS

It is safe to say that from whatever trim you choose, the Chevelle 70/SS is going to look mean and ooze retro style. Because the original was such a beautiful car, it would have been a crime for Trans Am Worldwide to tamper with it without good reason.

For the modern market, TAW has upgraded the body and the 2024 Chevelle SS sits on a modern platform that includes better brakes, upgraded suspension, and has a lighter body weight, which makes it more suitable for today's roads.

Retro Features With A Distinctly Modern Twist

Each trim will boast a road-hugging, low roof, aggressive style, classic car coolness, menacing headlights, modern and aerodynamic lines, sloped trunk, and long hood. Each will also feature custom mirrors, 20x11-inch front wheels, 20x12-inch rear wheels, a rear-wheel drive set-up, and a carbon-fiber body.

Carbon fiber body parts include rocker panels, rear and front bumpers, valance, doors, splitter, and hood with rally stripes but, all trims will boast that mean and street-dominating demeanor that will make you think of the times when Led Zeppelin ruled the airwaves and when the big-block engine was king.

2024 Chevelle 70/SS Trim Features

• The Base Model will include a lowering spring package, an upgraded sway-bar package, custom painted calipers, and an axle back exhaust system.
• The 369 Heritage Model will also include a lowering spring package, upgraded sway-bar package, painted calipers, and Michelin Super Sport tires on the rear and front wheels.
• The 454 LS6X Limited Edition will include painted calipers, a varied choice of custom paint jobs, a lowering spring package, Michelin Super Sport tires, and a big-brake kit that features six-piston calipers at the front, four-pistons at the back, and drilled and slotted rotors.

Interior Features Of The ‘24 70/SS

Like the exterior, the interior will boast a 1970-inspired theme whilst being modernized for today's tastes. Combining the luxury of modern cars with the beauty of retro design, the 70/SS is going to be a comfortable and envious place to be.

Retro Finish That Oozes Cool

Each model will feature custom stitched leather bucket seats, rear passenger seats, a Hurst Short Ratio stick in models with manual transmission or Heritage shifter in models with automatic transmission, Astro A/C vents, custom floor mats, carbon panel door inserts, 70/SS aluminum sill plates, a custom steering wheel, and retro gauge instrument clusters, that will thankfully, feature modern tech.

In re-upholstering and reworking everything inside, TAW has created a neo-retro creation by taking inspiration from the sixth generation of the Camaro and the original 1970 Chevelle SS, combining them into one fantastic custom machine that will certainly compete with other awesome customs like Finale Speed's resto-mod of a 1969 Camaro.

Pricing Options For The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS

The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS lineup is going to be a one-of-a-kind line of custom muscle cars. Owning one would mean you'd be owning a piece of automotive history and possibly one of the last great American muscle cars. So, it is safe to say that the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS, in any trim, is not going to be cheap.

Starting Price Of Over $150,000

The starting price of the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS is going to be over $150,000. When you look at the other cars that Trans Am Worldwide has dreamt up, created, and sold, it is no surprise that even the Base Model will have such a huge price tag. You will be getting an awful amount of specialty muscle cars with buckets of individuality though.

The Higher The Trim, The Higher The Price

If the mighty 450 horsepower really isn't enough, the added supercharger will certainly cost you more if you want to upgrade the Base Model. As will upgrade powertrains on the other trims. If you want to go even further and buy either the 369 Heritage Model or the highest spec 454 LS6X Limited Edition though, it has been estimated that prices could easily sail past $250,000.

As mentioned, there will only be a total of twenty-five of the LS6X Limited Edition made, so you can expect some buyers to collect them now and keep them in mint condition, as the lucky few have done with the legendary 1987 Buick Grand National GNX. Bear in mind, there were over 500 of those made! The price will be high now, and if it is as good as tipped to be, will be even higher in the future.
